SCA Championship?

I'm currently drafting a set of rules for a Championship seires to be run next year. The basci idea is for teams to get points for competing at events throughout the year, with the chamionship being awarded to the team with the highest number of points. At the moment, it looks like there will be three races at which points are available - Catterline, Border Bogie and Cairngorm, although of course others could be added.

At the moment I'm thinking along the following lines;

  • Points for aggregate times in time trial competitions (i.e. Catterline).
  • Points for final position in race competitions (i.e. Cairngorm).
  • 1st place = 5 points ... 5th place = 1 point. Plus 2 points for competing.
  • Must compete in at least 50% of races.

Any thoughts?

SCA Championship

I think anything that brings another dimension to cartie racing is a good thing.Smile

Input and ideas from the side lines are also great but it should be remembered that the burden of great ideas fall on the shoulders of the few who organise and run events and on the day their workload is pretty full. For that reason anything you consider feasable would get my backing.

SCA Championship

I think it'd be good fun, and should also help participating events by providing an incentive for more teams to take part. Just based on the teams taking part in various events this year, I'd estimate about 10 teams taking part, with at least 6 or 7 at any one event. That's enough for some pretty fierce competition.
