Welton Soapbox Derby delivers a Spectacular array of amateur drivers racing homemade soapbox vehicles. Each hand-made machine is fuelled by nothing but sheer courage, and the force of gravity!
This unique non-motorised racing event challenges both experienced racers and amateurs alike; to design and build traditional or outrageous soapbox dream machines, and compete against the clock in A DOWNHILL RACE!

"Worlaby is a small village located on the western edge of the Wolds near Brigg. It also has the perfect assest for Gravity Racing, The Hill. With a steep gradiant and natural bends it makes the perfect location to hold a Gravity Competition.
Apple Head Gravity Sport are holding a competition on Sunday 10 July 2016 which will start at 9:00 hrs."
Entries for this year Worlaby event will open on the 1st February. This year there will be 20 Soapbox, 5 sidecar and 12 Gravity bike places up for grabs. Entries will be taken on a first come first served basis, so please don't delay as last years event was full subscribed in 5 days.

After the success of the second soap box derby last year, the third VW Camper&Bus Show Gravity Race takes place on Soap Box Hill at Eastnor Castle, Ledbury, Herefordshire over the weekend of the 30-31 July 2016.
Entry is free to all those taking part. The derby is part of the camper and bus show a celebration of the classic VW Camper Van. £150.00 first prize. Enter by emailing adrian.vaughan@kelsey.co.uk

The Autohorn Micklegate Soapbox Challenge is a hilarious go-cart race down York's Finest Street.
On Sunday 28th August 2016 (the August Bank Holiday) fifty teams from all over Britain will be racing their home made soapbox carts down the steep cobbles street of Micklegate, from the Bar to the River Ouse.

Windmill hill soap box derby will raise money for Clifford AFC and will be a rip-roaring day of thrills and spills for teams, supporters and spectators alike.
The first race, the junior soap box derby, gets underway at 10.30am with adult races starting at 12.30pm. In addition to races there will be food, drink and entertainment for everyone. Funds will be raised through each team’s own sponsorship, ticket sales and sales of food and drink on the day. We urge entering teams to gather as much sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues as possible, as they build their soap boxes in the lead-up to the event. ‘Fun’ or ‘themed’ soap boxes are especially welcome!

The Gravity Grand Prix is a fun event run by The Kaffirs of Cookham Dean to raise money for charity, traditionally The Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
It is an annual event that is held at the end of the summer in the village of Cookham Dean, Berkshire. This year, 2016, will be the 10th consecutive year for holding the event and with a growing number of competitors and spectators, it could be the biggest yet.

Teams will consist of driver and four additional crew members, they will be allocated a ‘pit’ area on the market place as a space where they can showcase their vehicle and raise funds for their chosen charity/good cause, the Market Place will also have additional entertainment and food stalls,
A full vehicle build specification and race rules & regulations will be provided on application to race. Teams are encouraged to use the opportunity to raise funds through sponsorship and other opportunities for their good cause, and similarly that teams enter into the spirit of the Challenge and theme their vehicle and race wear.

The greatest racing event in the world, probably. Come and experience the thrill of the daredevil drivers who dice with death as they aim to be crowned champions of ....... well something. The aim is to have a fun day out for all ages, the focus is very much on family and friends having a good time, hopefully with a little bit of something for everyone. Bouncy castles, archery, paintballing, rock climbing, face painting and the like as well as traditional crafts, vintage cars, a tractor run, and a petting zoo and much, much more. Food and drink available. The event takes place at Greenlands farm village, Tewitfield, Carnforth LA6 1JH on Saturday 10th June 2017 at 1pm.
Entrance is £2 per adult - kids under 16 are free. Cost of entry for racers is £50 for 4 runs. All rules and regulations can be found on the website. The first 500 paying people through the gate will be entered into a prize draw, the prizes consisting of an ipad, xbox one and a super TV.
