Penn House Gravity Grand PrixThe Penn House Grand Prix in Buckinghamshire will return in 2014 after a very successful first run last year.  The course is quite a challenge technically with what we think is the only steep uphill section in the UK!

This year there will be three classes, an open class and a two formula classes for karts with and without bodywork. The formula classes will have strictly enforced weight limits for complete fairness. It again runs on the long, winding private driveway of a grand country house.

There will also be a trial run of gravity bikes this year so gravity bikes are encouraged to apply.

Guy Martin Gravity Racer

All eyes will be on Channel 4 this Sunday evening as gravity racers across the UK settle down to watch Guy Martin attempt to set a record for the fastest recorded soapbox in the world.

Although there is currently no officially accepted world record, he is aiming to beat the GPS measured 84.4mph claimed by Bodrodz on the Burkhalter Gap road in Georgia in September 2012. However, Guy is working to the specification set by Guinness Word Records which require the speed to be set over a measured 100m.

Will he succeed? Watch C4 this Sunday 16th November at 8pm to find out.
