Brechin Cartie RaceThe SCA Bandit, driven by Stephen Hall, beat off strong opposition from Team Rooket and Tickettyboo 2 to win the Senior Pro tropy at the first Brechin Halloween Cartie Race last Saturday.

There was a unexpected snow fall on the Friday might which caused some of the competitors to wonder if they should be fitting skis to their cartie, but it all cleared in time and the event went ahead without a hitch. The crowds grew throughout the morning to watch the practice runs, and Team Rooket at Brechin Cartiesby the time the timed heats begans after lunch there were several hundred people packing the High Street. The racing was very close, with the teams being separated by only a few hundreths of a second. The SCA Bandit won the Senior Pro class, with Duncan McIntosh Trailers exceptionally well built cartie winning the Senior Amateur trophy and also picking up a well deserved win for the Best Designed cartie. The Best Halloween Themed Cartie award went to Bruce Bymer's spectacular Cat.

Congratulations and a big vote of thanks are due to the Brechin Business Association and all the willing volunteers who put on an exceptionally well run cartie race. Roll on next year!
